Trust & Safety
Safety, sources and accessibility
Sage is not an emergency-response service. In an emergency contact local emergency services directly.
Official sources first
Advisory content ranks 🏛 Official Government Sources first (U.S. Department of State, then other national registries as locales expand). Community tips are never presented as official legal guidance. Stale legal or safety content shows “verification required” rather than stale certainty. See any destination's Know before you go page, e.g. Tokyo.
Sage Travel Assist
On member screens the 🆘 button lists local emergency numbers, police, medical, embassy/consulate references, your insurer, airline and hotel contacts, your emergency contacts, user-controlled location sharing, selected travel documents and emergency phrases. It is an organizer, not a responder.
Community safety
Block, report and mute controls ship with the Network in Phase II. Companion matching starts with safety onboarding; connection requests replace unsolicited messaging by default. Media uploads are scanned and moderated.
Accessibility statement
We target WCAG 2.2 AA: keyboard operability, visible focus, 4.5:1 text contrast in both themes, reduced-motion support, scalable type to 200%, accessible forms with announced errors, drag/drop with button alternatives and a list alternative for every map. Found a barrier? Tell support — accessibility reports are prioritized.
